About The Product

Furniture+ Insurance is a genuine insurance policy — regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland, backed by an A+ rated European insurer, and governed by the Irish Consumer Insurance Contracts Act 2019. That means your cover is supported by real financial guarantees and protected by Irish law.

A service contract is simply a commercial agreement between you and a company, with no regulatory oversight, no financial backing, and no independent recourse if things go wrong.

With Furniture+ Insurance, you’re properly protected — not just promised.

Furniture+ Insurance is underwritten by Helvetia Global Solutions Ltd, domiciled at Aeulestrasse 60, 9490 Vaduz, Principality of Liechtenstein, registered with the Commercial Register of the Principality of Liechtenstein (register number FL-0002.191.766-9), and regulated by the Financial Markets Authority of the Principality of Liechtenstein (FMA).

Helvetia Global Solutions Ltd. carries an A+ insurer rating, meaning your policy is backed by one of Europe’s most financially secure insurers.

Yes. Furniture+ Insurance is a regulated insurance product, overseen by the Central Bank of Ireland.

As a policyholder, you have full rights under the Irish Consumer Insurance Contracts Act 2019, including the right to refer any unresolved complaint to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO).

No — and that’s a good thing. Your sum insured increases automatically by 2% each year on a non-compounding basis, up to a maximum cumulative increase of 10% over the life of the policy.

This built-in inflation protection means your cover keeps pace with rising costs, at no extra charge.

What's Covered

Furniture+ Insurance covers accidental damage, accidental staining, spillages, scratches, dents, rips, fabric and frame damage, and structural defects arising after your manufacturer’s guarantee has ended — all up to your sum insured.

Cover applies to sudden and unforeseen incidents. Gradual damage and wear and tear are not covered.

Sudden and unforeseen damage caused by your own pets is covered. However, damage that has accumulated gradually over time — even if caused by your pet — falls outside the policy.

Damage caused by animals other than your own pets is also excluded.

Accidental damage is a sudden, unexpected, one-off incident — a spillage, a knock, a rip.

Gradual damage is deterioration that builds up over time, whether through use, repeated exposure, or slow staining.

Furniture+ Insurance covers accidental damage. Gradual damage, including gradual staining, is not covered regardless of the cause.

Yes — as long as reasonable precautions are taken. When your outdoor furniture isn’t in use, it must be adequately covered and protected.

Please review your Terms and Conditions for further specfications.

Getting Cover

Your cover starts from the date your furniture is delivered to your home.

When you purchase your policy in-store, you’ll receive an initial Insurance Certificate confirming your cover and expected delivery date.

Once your furniture has been delivered and we’ve been notified, you’ll receive an amended Insurance Certificate confirming your actual Effective Date.

Please hold onto both documents — they form part of your policy record.

Grand, But Just So You Know… If you need to cancel before your furniture has been delivered, you’re entitled to a full refund of your premium as the insurance risk hasn’t yet commenced.

No standard excess applies to Furniture+ Insurance. Any excess specific to your policy will be clearly stated in your Insurance Certificate.

Furniture+ Insurance covers items up to a value of €20,000. Items purchased above this value fall outside the scope of the policy.

Yes. Furniture+ Insurance covers specific set bundles including dining sets, living room sets, bedroom sets and indoor lounge sets under one policy. Please note that for claims purposes, each individual piece within the set is assessed under its own base category — so your dining table is treated as a table, your chairs as chairs, and so on.

Making a Claim

You can make a claim in three ways

Please have your Insurance Certificate, Policy Number, proof of purchase, and photographs of the damage ready when you get in touch.

You’ll need one of the following: your original purchase receipt, delivery confirmation, order confirmation, invoice, or retailer record.

If you no longer have any of these, contact us and we’ll do our best to work with what you have — retailer system records may also be accepted in some cases.

You must notify us within 14 calendar days of becoming aware of the incident. Please don’t arrange any repairs yourself before contacting us — unauthorised repairs may affect your claim.

All repairs are carried out by our trusted Irish repair partner, Walsh’s Furniture Repair & Assembly.

We’ll arrange for a technician to visit your home. We will do our best to complete repairs in a single visit, though some repairs require parts to be ordered and larger works — such as restuffing, reupholstering or respraying — will require a separate booking.

If repair isn’t possible or economical, we’ll arrange a replacement item up to your sum insured.

Only in truly extenuating circumstances, where neither repair nor replacement is practicable, will we consider settling by store voucher, gift card, or as an absolute last resort, cash reimbursement.

Policy Management & Rights

Yes. You have the right to cancel at any time in accordance with the Irish Consumer Insurance Contracts Act 2019. Here’s how it works depending on when you cancel:

If you cancel within 14 days of receiving your Insurance Certificate, and cover hasn’t commenced and no claim has been made, you’ll receive a full refund — this is your cooling-off period.

If you cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period but before your furniture has been delivered, you’re still entitled to a full refund as the insurance risk hasn’t yet commenced.

If you cancel after your furniture has been delivered, cancellation will only be permitted in justified circumstances, including where the item has been sold, destroyed, or is otherwise no longer insurable. In such cases, a pro-rata refund of your unused cover will apply. Please see Furniture+ Insurance Terms & Conditions for more information.

Grand, But Just So You Know… Notice of cancellation must be given in writing via the approved channels — online portal, email, or telephone. Verbal notice alone is not sufficient.

We’re sorry to hear that — please get in touch with us directly first and we’ll do everything we can to put things right.

You can contact us at claims@furniturepluscover.ie or on +353 81 888 2120.

We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 40 business days. Please note that Warranty Expert may record and monitor telephone calls for regulatory, training, and quality purposes.

If we’re unable to resolve it to your satisfaction, you have the right to refer your complaint to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO): Lincoln House, Lincoln Place, Dublin 2, D02 VH29 — info@fspo.ie+353 1 567 7000 — www.fspo.ie.

In the unlikely event that Helvetia Global Solutions Ltd is unable to meet its liabilities, eligible policyholders may be entitled to compensation from the Insurance Compensation Fund in Ireland.
